Experiencing Parisian Luxury: Shangri-La Paris Hotel Review

Paris exists to remind you that all your dreams are real
— Audrey Hepburn

In the words of Emily Gilmore, “Every young lady should do Europe the proper way at least once in her life,” even though her road trips probably didn’t cover most of the continent, you will find no arguments for that statement here. One of the cities that is a must-visit for many people traveling across Europe is Paris, the capital of France.

Let me start by saying that I’ve visited Paris several times. However, last time was the only time I’d done my trip the “Emily Gilmore-approved” way. After spending much time searching for hotels on Instagram, Pinterest, and Google – I finally found where I wanted to celebrate my 30th birthday: The Shangri-La Paris.

Was the stay worth it? Let me tell you while we cover all aspects of the hotel, from the rooms to the location.

The Location

Situated in the prestigious 16th arrondissement, the Shangri-La Paris Hotel finds itself in one of the city's most upscale and picturesque neighborhoods. From this prime location, you'll have easy access to many renowned attractions, cultural landmarks, and vibrant areas of Paris.

The hotel is right across from the subway station, so getting around the city will be a breeze. If you prefer to walk, the Eiffel Tower and the Champs-Élysées are just 15 minutes away. Taxis are also stationed right out front, so you won't have to wait long if you prefer to take a cab instead of the subway.

One more thing - if you’re arriving by car, the hotel offers valet service. Just drive up to the hotel's front gates, and everything will be taken care of for you.

The Rooms

The rooms at Shangri-La Paris Hotel offer an exquisite blend of spaciousness, Parisian charm, and modern comfort. Each meticulously designed room reflects an understated elegance, with tasteful decor and plush furnishings. Many rooms provide enchanting views of the Eiffel Tower, adding a touch of magic to your stay. The bathrooms are luxurious, featuring marble fixtures and indulgent amenities. In these rooms, you'll find a haven of relaxation and sophistication, creating a truly memorable experience in the heart of Paris.

Please keep in mind that only some rooms have a balcony/terrace or view of the Eiffel Tower. To get the view in the picture above, we booked the “Terrace Eiffel View Room.”

The Restaurants

The hotel boasts a selection of outstanding restaurants, each offering its own distinct flavors and ambiance. Whether you're indulging in refined French cuisine at L'Abeille, exploring the flavors of China at Shang Palace, enjoying a fusion of cultures at La Bauhinia, or sipping on expertly crafted cocktails at Le Bar Botaniste, each restaurant promises a memorable journey of gastronomic delights within the luxurious setting of the hotel.

The Amenities

Are you ready for some relaxation after hours of sightseeing? You got it! The Shangri-La Paris Hotel offers an array of amenities to ensure a truly luxurious and rejuvenating stay. Experience ultimate relaxation at Chi, The Spa, stay active at the fitness center or take a refreshing swim in the elegant indoor pool. Whatever you’re in the mood for, you can find it at the hotel.

The Verdict

I will honestly say that the Shangri-La Paris Hotel is still one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. The staff is very friendly and helpful. As I mentioned, I celebrated my birthday here, and the team went far and beyond to make me feel special. They also helped my boyfriend plan a couple of surprises for me without me suspecting anything. From the moment you step foot in the building, you’re transported back in time, as the interior is breathtaking. Suppose you’re still doubting if it’s worth staying here - don’t. You won’t regret it.
