Taylor Swift Eras Tour Europe

Welcome to New York... or rather, Europe! Taylor Swift's highly anticipated Eras Tour is making its way across the continent, and we Swifties are getting ready for an enchanting experience. Having attended the show in Stockholm, I want to share some things I wish I had known beforehand to make my experience smoother and more enjoyable. From deciding what to wear to mastering the setlist and figuring out transportation logistics, this guide will help you Shake It Off and enjoy the show with ease. So grab your favorite cardigan, and let’s dive into it.

Let’s go - Here’s all the information you need before attending Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour!

How To Get To The Stadiums?

Figuring out the transportation to the stadiums can vary greatly depending on the city, but one thing remains universal: planning ahead is key. Most stadiums are outside the city center, so preparing for the journey is crucial. If you lucked out with a nearby hotel, that is excellent! But if you're staying downtown like me, no worries - public transport's your friend.

Taxis might seem easy, but they're pricey and hard to find when everyone is leaving at the same time. Due to high demand and logistics, booking in advance is often not an option. During my concert experience, I decided to leave halfway through Karma to catch the subway, and I'm grateful I did. I heard it took others hours to get home.

If leaving early isn't something you want to do (completely understandable), head to a subway stop before the arena to beat the crowds. Your feet will thank you.

What Can I Bring To The Stadium?

When it comes to what you should bring to the Eras Tour, it really depends on the city where you're seeing the show. In Stockholm, for instance, there was a total bag ban, so we couldn't bring any type of bags inside. A phone lanyard that goes around your neck was a complete lifesaver, so I highly recommend getting one of those. However, at other shows, you might be allowed to have a bag. At another show, power banks weren't allowed, while in Stockholm, they were fine. So, it's crucial to read up on the policy of the stadium before you go. Regarding water, lots of stadiums have water fountains where you can fill up your water (you can drink tap water), so if possible, bring an empty water bottle and fill it up inside. This way, you stay hydrated without having to buy expensive bottled water (I bought one inside the stadium as I didn’t know they had water fountains and it set me back €5.50).

What Should I Wear To The Eras Tour?

Whether you’ve planned to go as your favorite Era, song, or an inside fan joke, when deciding what to wear to the ERAS Tour, comfort is 100000% key. It might seem straightforward, but trust me, you'll thank yourself for prioritizing comfort. Even if you have seats, you'll still need comfortable shoes since there's a lot of walking and standing involved—just getting to the stadium and waiting in line can take a while. Often, it gets really warm in the stadium, so it's best to dress in layers or choose something that isn't too warm. Plus, be prepared for the possibility that the stadium might decide to open its roof, which means it could get cold. There's no better excuse to pull out one of your Taylor Cardigans—you know you bought them for a reason! You want to be able to enjoy every moment without being distracted by sore feet or overheating. So, pick an outfit that's stylish but practical, and you'll be good to go!

What Can I Expect At The Stadium?

When you're at the stadium, what to expect can vary depending on the city and how the event is organized. In Stockholm, everything went super smoothly without any trouble, but other venues have had more issues with crowd management. One pleasant surprise was that going to the bathroom wasn't a big problem. I went about 10 minutes before Paramore started and only waited a couple of minutes. This time before Paramore's set is perfect for taking pictures and trading friendship bracelets, so if you're into that, make sure to arrive a bit early. Keep in mind, there's not a lot of time between Paramore and Taylor, so try to have everything crossed off your list beforehand to fully enjoy the main event.

What Are The Taylor Swift Fan Chants I Need To Know?

Taylor Swift Anti Hero Eras Tour

Ok, now that you have your ticket, outfit, and friendship bracelets secured - it’s time to learn some of the iconic Taylor Swift Fan Chants. Us Swifties are a devoted group of people, so we'll do anything to show Taylor we love her, right? If you’re not familiar with all of the chants or if this is your first Taylor concert, it might feel a bit overwhelming. But don’t worry; you’ll get the hang of it quickly! So, without further ado, here are all the chants you need to know in the same order you will use them:

  • During Fearless:
This one is easy: Hold up your hands in a heart when Taylor does it.

  • During You Belong With Me:
In the bridge, Taylor sings, "I'm the one who makes you laugh. When you know you're 'bout to cry" - we respond with a double clap.

  • During Delicate:
After Taylor sings, "We can't make any promises now, can we, babe? But you can make me a drink," we yell: "ONE, TWO, THREE! LET'S GO BITCH"

  • During Don’t Blame Me:
After Taylor sings, "Every time you're, every time you're lovin' me", we yell: "Take us to church, Taylor"

  • During Marjorie:
We hold up the flashlights on our phones during the song as a tribute to her grandmother.

  • During Blank Space:
This is a bit of a tricky one and will depend on the city where you see the show. After Taylor sings, “Boys only want love if it’s torture,” you say the name of the city you’re in. This is based on the 1989 Tour in Sydney.

  • During Bad Blood:
In the bridge, Taylor sings the line, "If you live like that, you live with ghosts," then we go: "You forgive, you forget, but you never let it go".
A fairly new chant during this song is also: "Hey, stop. She wasn't doing anything. HEY! STOP!" in the middle of Bad Blood's chorus after Taylor intervened after she saw a security guard inappropriately telling off a fan.

  • During Anti-Hero:
After Taylor sings, "Did you hear my covert narcissism I disguise as altruism, like some kind of congressman?". We respond with the line, "Taylor, you'll be fine."

  • During Bejeweled:
Taylor sings the line, "By the way" and pauses. During this pause, we say, "Where are you going, Taylor?" to which she replies, "I'm going out tonight".

Don’t worry if you miss/forget a couple. The most important part is that you have fun with it!!!

When Is The Best Time To Get Merch?

Taylor Swift Eras Tour Merch

The best time to get merch can really make a difference in your concert experience. I had VIP tickets, and since I couldn't bring a bag into the stadium, I decided to pick up my VIP pack the day before. This also gave me a chance to try out the commute and grab some merch early. The truck opened at 11:00, and I got in line around 10:45, waiting for about 45 minutes. I was able to get the quarter zip and the beige/cream t-shirt in the sizes I wanted without any issues. When I arrived on the day of the concert, there was a line, but all the merch was still available. Keep in mind, though, that merch prices can vary by location. For example, in Paris, the T-shirt was 35 euros, while in Stockholm, it was about 40 euros after conversion. So, if you want to avoid long lines and ensure you get what you want, consider arriving early or even the day before if possible.

There you have it - some essential things to know before you attend your first Eras Tour Show. If you have any questions left, feel free to reach out. Have an amazing time!
