How Do I Get To Zakrzówek & Where Can I Park?

To access the captivating Zakrzówek pools, you have a few transportation options. If you're in central Kraków and prefer public transport, you can take a bus or tram to the 'Zakrzówek' stop, which is the closest point to the pools. Simply follow the signs from there, and you'll be on your way.

For those who prefer to drive, there is free street parking nearby. However, it’s important to note that it tends to fill quickly, especially on sunny days. I did find a parking lot nearby. Turn right on the roundabout just in front of the entrance. Go down the road for about 300m, and a parking lot will be on your right side. I believe we paid 5zł per hour (around €1,25).

Once you've parked your vehicle, you'll only be a short walk away from the Zakrzówek pools. It's a relatively easy and accessible journey from both public transport and the parking area, making it convenient for visitors of all kinds.

How Much Is The Entrance Fee For Zakrzówek & How Long Is The Wait?

As you prepare for your Zakrzówek adventure, it's important to note that there is no entrance fee, making it a great option for budget-conscious explorers. However, due to its popularity, especially on warm summer days, be prepared for potentially long waiting lines as Zakrzówek can experience heavy foot traffic. To paint a picture, I went on the worst possible day as it was hot and during a public holiday. I stood in line for 2.5 hours… Now I know what you’re thinking… why would anyone decide to stand in line for that long? The only answer I can give you is - never in a million years did I expect it to take that long, and of course, once you stand there for an hour, you don’t want to leave the line because you’ve already spent that hour in line… I hope you can follow where my mind was at.

It's worth mentioning that only a maximum of 1000 people are allowed inside at a time to ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment. So, once it reaches total capacity, you must wait for some visitors to depart before entering. However, the upside of this limitation is that once you're in, you'll find it's never too crowded. There's ample room to swim, relax, and sit without feeling cramped or like you're sitting on top of each other, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

To minimize your wait time and maximize your enjoyment, consider arriving early in the morning or later in the afternoon.

Are There Any Spots To Eat, or Can I Bring My Own Food?

Where To Eat In Zakrzowek

When it comes to refueling during your Zakrzówek adventure, you have several options to satisfy your appetite. Right by the entrance, you'll find spots where you can grab a bite to eat. Once inside, you'll receive a wristband that allows you to exit and enter at your leisure. This is also where you can find the bathroom facilities. If you prefer to bring your own food and drinks, you're more than welcome to do so. Additionally, for the ultimate convenience, you can even order food through apps like pizza delivery and have it brought right to the entrance. For on-the-spot snacking, there's a stand near the entrance offering fries, ice cream, and beverages. It's important to note that alcohol is not allowed within the premises, so any drinks available at the stands are non-alcoholic. Be aware that prices can be on the higher side compared to typical Polish standards, with items like a portion of fries costing around 18 zł (€5).

The pools of Zakrzówek are filled with unspoiled, cold, and incredibly refreshing lake water. Its natural origins ensure that the water remains cool, making it a perfect respite from the summer heat. Zakrzówek boasts multiple pools, each with varying depths, catering to visitors of all ages. Families with children will appreciate the shallower areas, designed with their safety and enjoyment in mind.

Insider Tip: For those seeking shade, the pool at the end offers the most respite from the sun's rays. However, if you want even more shade, consider bringing along an umbrella to create your cozy oasis.

The Verdict: Is Zakrzówek Worth A Visit?

In conclusion, a visit to the Zakrzówek pools is undeniably worth every moment. If you're seeking a serene escape from the bustling city, where you can bask in natural beauty without overwhelming crowds, then these pools are an exceptional choice. To enhance your experience, consider planning your trip on a weekday to enjoy more tranquility, avoiding public holidays when it tends to be busier. And here's a tip from experience: bring more than just a towel to sit on, as the wooden surface can be a bit challenging for extended relaxation. Don't forget to pack plenty of water to stay hydrated and sunscreen to shield yourself from the sun, as there isn't abundant shade. With these considerations in mind, you're all set for a memorable and refreshing day at Zakrzówek.
